In 2002, the School of Accounting established the Professional English Teaching and Research Center (PETR Center) to arrange for the enrollment of international-oriented major. Since then, the School established multi-level cooperation, exchange, and training mechanisms with recognized international accounting institutions such as CPA Canada (2002), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, 2005), Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA, 2010), and CPA Australia (2014) in joint schooling programs, bilateral tuition waiver, mutual recognition of credits, and degree program cooperation. In 2003, the school started the enrollment of the international-oriented accounting major, while in 2010, the international-oriented financial management major started to enroll students. After decades of efforts, the curriculum system has been highly improved and the two majors are highly recommended by the stakeholders. In 2014, the accounting joint undergraduate program co-established by SOA and the Baruch College of the City University of New York was accredited as a Sino-Foreign Educational Cooperation Program by the Ministry of Education. In September 2015, the program had its first enrollment. Currently, there are three specialization related to the center.
