Introduction

In 2004, upon approval by the State Degree Committee, the School of Accounting, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics became among the first 21 business schools nationwide to offer MPAcc programs.

The unabbreviated name of the program is Master of Professional Accounting; it is often called MPAcc for short. MPAcc programs admit part-time students and full-time students who possess practical experience, financial or accounting qualifications, and a university diploma or degree. In 2004, the program admitted 100 part-time students nationwide.

Students must obtain 50 credits for graduation, including 32 credits for courses, 10 credits for social practice, and 8 credits for their degree thesis, requiring a minimum of two academic years and not more than four academic years.
